The
BULL COMBAT vehicle is a
cost-effective, survivable, light protected all-terrain vehicle that
seats three to twelve crew members. An armored body is mounted on a
modified commercial Dodge® RAM® 5500 or Ford® F550 pickup truck
chassis. Based on the Tiger Mk the upgraded BULL COMBAT offers
significant advantages in power, space, protection and lifecycle cost.
More Power
The Dodge RAM 5500 and the Ford F550 heavy duty platforms are the
best 4X4 commercial platforms in their category. A powerful
6.7
liter turbo water cooled diesel engine boosting 380 HP and 610 lb-ft
torque is coupled with a six- speed automatic transmission and transfer
case. This power train easily handles the 8.8 ton BULL
COMBAT,
even at 60% slopes.
More Space
The BULL COMBAT body is a
spacious “box”, with a unique flat floor throughout the
entire
cabin, from firewall to rear door.
The wide, flat-floored cabin
allows for three front-row seats, comfortably seating passengers in
full battle gear. Configurations include driver, navigator and
commander, or driver and two security personnel.
Five doors
and seat mounting floor rails enable various interchangeable seating
arrangements, including seating for six or eight forward facing
passengers, or six forward facing and six side-by-side passengers.
The roof hatch has a standard weapons ring, which allows for mounting a
variety of weapons and equipment.
Situation
awareness is achieved with eight or ten windows – one large, single
pane windshield, windows in each of the five doors and two rear side
windows.
The OEM in-dash air conditioning system is augmented with a
rear AC unit, with a full nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC)
system as an option.
More Protection
The BULL COMBAT utilizes
a ballistic system with add-on layers, offering various levels of armor
protection. Add-on armor panels are all replaceable, repairable, and
upgradeable.
All windows, including the windshield, offer the same
ballistic qualities. Optional swivel-type gun ports can be mounted in
all windows, including the windshield. The unique design locks barrels
in place, eliminating the risk of discharging inside the body, while
allowing the use of the
weapon’s sights through the glass window, leaving the barrel opening as
the only exposed area when weapons are in use.
Cost Effective
Using
a commercial off-the-shelf platform reduces initial cost,
reduces
spare parts costs and reduces maintenance costs. The unique body
approach allows for easy remounting the body on a new pickup truck
chassis, which significantly reduces life cycle costs over the life of
the body.
The BULL COMBAT is offered with a short (5 meter) or long (6.2 meter)
body.
The short body can hold 6-8 passengers and the long body can hold 12
passengers.
